The air fryer makes it easy to cook tempura vegetables. With this formula you can create your own customized tempura-battered veggies by using different vegetables, seasonings, and dipping sauces.

Ingredients

  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup seltzer water
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon SEASONING (see Variations below)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups VEGETABLES ( (see Variations below))
  • 1/2 cup purchased DIPPING SAUCE (see Variations below)

Steps

  1. Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Beat egg whites in a bowl until frothy. Whisk in seltzer wateruntil combined. Whisk in flour, SEASONING, salt, and pepper until batter forms.
  3. Coat basket with cooking spray. Dip VEGETABLES into batter until coated; allow excess to drip off. Working in batches if needed, arrange vegetables in an even layer in basket. Cook until golden brown, about 7 minutes. Serve with DIPPING SAUCE.
